While I was in Canada, I also spent time with a High School friend and her husband. I went on a tour of knitting and quilting shops --- so much temptation which I managed to squelch because I would have to store anything I would buy for my knitting and sewing stashes because my date to leave the US for my teaching adventure is now very close!

Chicken Wings & Poutine Lunch |
We even drove into Toronto to catch a Canadian football game -- the Toronto Argonauts vs. the BC Lions. My friends live about 1.5 hours outside of Toronto, so they also booked a hotel room through a website that does not tell the customer what they got until after payment is made. Well we lucked out. We stayed in the Toronto Renaissance Hotel in a room that overlooked the football field. We also had a late lunch at Duff's in Toronto of chicken wings and poutine. Poutine, for the uninitiated, is a Canadian specialty food made of french fries mixed with cheese curds and then liberally covered in beef gravy. Wow! Poutine was yummy as were the wings!
